AIMS Education Receives a “Commendation” from the State of New Jersey
New Jersey State Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula recently presented AIMS Education with a commendation for their participation “co-organizing the first Annual Greater Central New Jersey Career Fair.” This endeavor was developed to help provide job seekers the opportunity to meet with numerous local employers in a centralized location saving both time and money. Prospective employees were able to present their resumes to several organizations throughout the career fair and also had the opportunity to meet face to face with hiring managers.
New Jersey’s local news station, News 12 New Jersey, had one of their reporters on hand to cover the event. Along with AIMS Education, some of the other local organizations hosting tables included, TD Bank, Magic Radio 98.3, Robert Wood Johnson Fitness and Wellness Center, Raritan Valley Community College, NY Life, St Peters University Hospital, GNext Education, US Army, and Robert Half. Based on the overwhelmingly positive response from job seekers and the employers who attended this career fair, it is now slated to become an annual event.
In addition to AIMS Education hosting a table at the Greater Central New Jersey Career Fair, I had the opportunity to conduct a seminar on “Interviewing Skills” to attendees. The seminar received an enthusiastic response from the attendees. Several of the prospective employees said they were able to use their newly learned interviewing skills as they approached each employer.
In addition to the seminar on “Interviewing Skills,” the AIMS Career Services Department has developed Career Service Training seminars on a number of related topics including resume writing, networking, and job search techniques. These seminars are offered to our student population in an effort to help graduates secure positions in their chosen field. Students with this knowledge approach their job search with additional confidence knowing they are armed with their program knowledge as well as the ability to create a strong resume to “open the door” and the interviewing skills “to close the deal”. We are also happy to present these seminars at additional career/college fairs and other events.
This is one of the many career fairs AIMS regularly participates in throughout the tri-state area. We are proud to have received this commendation from the New Jersey State Assembly for our “hard work and dedication by creating opportunities” and look forward to continued participation in future events. If your organization is hosting an upcoming event and would like AIMS to participate, please reach out to us at 908-222-0002.
