Congratulations AIMS Graduates!
Fall Graduation Ceremony
October 4, 2017
AIMS Education held its Fall Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. The ceremony was held to honor AIMS students who graduated between April 1, 2017 and September 30, 2017. Graduates from the following programs were invited to attend - Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, Cardiovascular Technologist, MRI Technologist, Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Surgical Technologist, Medical Billing and Coding, and Medical Assistant.
During the graduation ceremony, graduates are provided an AIMS pin which symbolizes the successful completion of their program of study. The modern day pinning ceremony dates back to the 19th century when nurses graduated from nursing school. AIMS Education, along with other healthcare schools, has continued this practice by “pinning” graduates at our bi-annual graduation ceremony.
The October 4th Graduation Ceremony kicked off with an opening speech from AIMS Career Specialist, Justine Keane. Financial Aid Administrator, Sunil Desai, also spoke briefly on the importance of paying back student loans. And the keynote speech was delivered by School Director, Chirag Patel.
Before the pinning began, DMS graduate Heidi Hayes and CVT graduate Bavneet Kaur were invited to say a few words about their experience at AIMS and their future goals. Both graduates had been student representatives during their time at AIMS. In addition to the graduate speeches, CVT graduate, Jela Smajlaj, was recognized for outstanding performance during her clinical internship at Christ Hospital. Her site supervisors at Christ Hospital were so impressed with her performance that they provided a signed letter of recommendation for Ms. Smajlaj and asked the school to present it to her.
After the speeches concluded, Chirag Patel, along with the program directors, began pinning all of the graduates. Following the pinning ceremony, everyone in attendance was invited to enjoy a full dessert bar.
The next graduation ceremony will be held in the spring of 2018. Students who graduate between October 1, 2017 and March 31, 2018, will be invited to attend.
