Why I Decided to Make a Career Change

I worked in both the financial industry and customer service industry before I realized I needed a change. I obtained my Class A CDL license and began a career as a driver. I thoroughly enjoyed working for a community blood center before it closed its doors in 2018. Deciding to go back to school in my 40s was not easy. However, I believe you should never stop learning no matter what. Going to school during the day and working a full-time job at night has not been easy. I didn't expect it to be. Success doesn't come easy. You find a way to make it work and then you adapt and overcome.

My Experience at AIMS

My experience with AIMS has been excellent. The staff is accommodating and helpful. My instructor was informative, knowledgeable, and supportive. With 20+ years in the field, she is the type of instructor I knew I would benefit from. Book knowledge will only get you so far. You need to learn from someone who has real experience. The hands on knowledge is what makes a difference.

Success after Graduation

Considering I wasn’t in a classroom setting for 20 years, I was very pleased with how well I did in the program. Prior to graduation, I was able to pass the CRCST exam and receive my preliminary certification. In May 2019, after completing my 400-hour internship, I received my official certification. Now I’m working as a sterile processing technician at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.
